Il ritorno sul rettangolo verde per la squadra di Slade coincide con una vittoria sul campo del Cray Wanderers. Le marcature portano le firme di Chorley (su rigore per atterramento di un attivissimo Porter), e del neo acquisto Revell (bravo a sfruttare un errore difensivo).

Da sottolineare l' ottima prova del giovane Porter (che giocava contro la sua ex squadra) e del trialist Dobson. Molto bene anche Chambers, Brown, i giovani (Mike, Beautyman e Millwood), Revell e Dawson Per il resto, questo test è servito a Slade ad avere una prima panoramica sulle condizione della squadra dopo 2 settimane di allenamenti.
